But first read on…..
To Clear up any misunderstood information on Trial Work prior to the Crazy Miner and Fools Gold…. Coming out to help clear the trails from winter damage (downed trees and such) you will NOT be DQ’d for being on the course in the weekends before the events.
The Rule: 11.2.4 Riders found riding in the wrong class or engine class, or engaged in illegal practices, will be disqualified from the event and shall have cards pulled for at least the next meet. The following shall be considered to be illegal practices:
B. Pre-riding any part of the course within 24 hours of start time.
So we welcome your help on a daunting task due to a harsh winter.
Understanding Points: The Fools Gold is part of the D36 Enduro Championship series and the Crazy Miner is part of the D36 Youth Enduro Championship series – two separate series.
Riders who work an event on event weekend are eligible for work points but not on other weekends of work before or after the event. A rider working the Fools Gold event can get “work points” toward the D36 Enduro Championship. A Rider working the Crazy Miner event who qualifies for a class in the Youth Enduro Championship (Kids, Ladies, C Super Senior, Master and Pioneer Classes) can get “work points” toward the D36 Youth/Family Enduro Championship. A rider riding the Fools Gold and working the Crazy Miner (no course access such as marking or trail work on event weekend) can get work points for the Crazy Miner (in qualifying classes only) and then ride the Fools Gold and get championship points for the Fools Gold. Conversely a rider can ride the Crazy miner and get championship points (in qualifying classes only) and then work the Fools Gold and get championship work points for that. A rider CANNOT work the Crazy Miner then not ride the FG and expect to get work points for the Fools Gold and visa versa. One must actually work on event day to get work points for that event run that day. In NO case can a rider get both work points and championship points for working and riding the same event. To answer the obvious question, how can a rider work and ride the same event? Well it’s been tried for both points when a rider has come out on Thursday or Friday of event weekend when all the pre-event setup is being done and work around camp, work traffic control, help at sign-up the day before, help at sound check, help pull arrows after the Enduro, etc. then ride the event and expect both work and competition points. I point this out because it has been attempted more than once at our event.
We Welcome all comers both workers and competitors — We do this for you….Come out and do it for us!
If, after reading this and you have any further questions about points please give me a call at 925.413.2434. Bill McGibbon, CERA Referee.
